The World In Our Words is more than just a poetry book—it is a celebration of humanity, unity, and creativity. Featuring the work of 22 poets from across the globe, this collection brings together voices from Israel, Scotland, England, America, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and Australia. Each poem holds its own truth—sometimes raw, sometimes humorous, always deeply authentic.

How It Began

My journey began with the idea of publishing my own poetry. But when I realised I didn’t yet have enough material for a solo book, I thought about what really mattered to me: building community through creativity. That spark evolved into something much greater than I had imagined.

I put out a call on social media and through personal networks, inviting other poets to join me. The response was overwhelming—writers from different countries, cultures, and languages wanted to be part of this vision. What could have been a personal project transformed into a collaborative effort that transcended borders, politics, religion, and all the usual barriers that divide us.

A True Collaboration

From the very start, The World In Our Words was built on generosity and shared passion. The project became a place where every contributor gave freely of their talents:

  • One poet designed the book’s cover.

  • Another poet handled the typesetting.

  • A third contributed by interviewing the poets weekly, helping their stories and inspirations shine.

Every detail, from the words on the page to the artwork on the cover, was shaped by the poets themselves. It wasn’t just my project—it was our project, carried forward by friendship, respect, and creativity.

A Shared Mission

For me, this book was a way of shining a positive light in the middle of chaos. It was proof that people, when they leave aside politics, religion, and all that separates us, can come together around something uplifting and creative.

Each quarter, the royalties from the book sales are shared among the poets—because it was important to me that their contributions and voices were not only celebrated but supported in a tangible way.

The Journey Through Words

Readers of The World In Our Words embark on a poetic journey that crosses continents and emotions. The collection embraces life in all its forms—the struggles, the joys, the humor, and the quiet reflections. With no restraints placed on the poets, the result is a book that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.

This project has shown me that poetry is not just art—it is connection. It is proof that the world, in all its diversity, can still come together to create something truly beautiful.

What People Are Saying

“'Being given the opportunity to contribute a collection of my poetry to the first edition of The World in Our Words was both humbling and surreal. Seeing my words in print for the very first time filled me with immense gratitude and a deep respect for the chance to be included alongside such incredible poets and authors.

What made the experience even more special was the sense of community we created together, supporting one another and turning our shared dream into reality. Holding the published book in my hands for the first time was a proud and unforgettable moment, one that I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

— Terrica Strudwick, my personal experience review.

“'My experience with being involved in The World in Our Words has been a journey of growth and development for myself and others in the project.

When the opportunity came to put forward my poetry with a view to being selected for inclusion in the book, I felt motivated to take it up.

I saw the post on Facebook with the details about the project and as many others were, I was in the habit of “doom scrolling” with a passive attitude to what I was seeing, but this post made me pay attention and I am so glad that it did.

I made the effort to send my poems and waited for a reply. The reply was a positive one, being that I was going to have my poems in the book, an international poetry anthology and I was so happy and excited having received the news.

The messenger group was created and grew as the other poets and the wonderful person, Stephannie Rowe, who was leading the project, communicated with each other. There were some difficult situations that arose through the process but they were resolved in time and the good energy permeated through resulting in everything working out in a hugely positive way.

I personally was able to link Stephannie with an independent book shop named Script Haven in the City of Worcester in the West Midlands of England which is owned and managed by a former Poet Laureate named Leena Batchelor. Copies of the book are now available to buy there.

I have been on two local Radio stations talking about the book and my involvement in it which has been a great experience for me and has increased my confidence in speaking and talking about myself which has been extremely beneficial.

I am hugely proud of myself and all others involved and feel great that such a positive project has made an impact on my life and the lives of others.”

— David Oliver

“Stephanie Rowe has inspired more than 22 poets from all around the World into writing this Wonderful Book The World in Our Words. I am Lucy Novaro, one of the writers.

I am a Mexican poet and I have participated in this interesting and inspiring project. In the making of this book I have met wonderful and creative poets from Australia, Canada, England UK, Brazil, United States, Mexico and Israel.

Working with Stephanie has been very exciting, and interacting with other poets is very enriching. The shared sensibility of writing has been so interesting for me, especially to witness all the writing, editing, publishing and distribution. Art in all its forms can make this world a better place.”

— Lucy Novaro, My experience as a poet in World in Our Words by Stephanie Rowe

“An opportunity of a lifetime. I found myself hoping to break into the writing world and was constantly reminded that without credits, I would find it difficult to be taken seriously. As if by magic, the initial call out by Stephanie came across my timeline and that's where it all changed.

Working on The World in Our Words highlighted the importance of helping others, giving them a platform to share their work and the power of community. What started as an idea backed by faith turned into tangible proof of what happens when you refuse to let distance or experience limit you.

The World in Our Words was born of pure determination and support from Stephanie who's passion for writing and helping others share their work is a testament to her character. If you needed a reminder that anything is possible...look no further.”

Niamh Friel

“Working with Steph and the poets who contributed to The World in Our Worlds was a pinnacle of my writing career. Not only did it open doors to communications with authors, creating a sort of writing circle I never thought I’d have, but it established a grounding confidence in myself that says “I can do it, because I’ve done it, and I can do it again”. The momentum this has crafted with my other works is unstoppable! I’m actually finishing projects now!

The experience itself was perfectly catered to my lifestyle. I helped where I could in the time I could, but if I couldn’t there was ZERO pressure to do what I could not. This made it easier to allow myself the time to be helpful and participate more, to put more effort into the poetry submitted. Communication was clear. Updates were given whenever updates were available to give, not just from Steph but from everyone collaborating.

I highly recommend others to get on board with Steph if they can and if you do, I look forward to having you on the team”

— N.N.Castle

“What a whirlwind adventure it has been! Being a part of The World in Our Words has been such an honour and a truly humbling experience. I couldn't ask to have collaborated with a more fabulous bunch of humans towards an amazing project.

I would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to join the family and take part in this incredible journey to do so. Run, don't walk! You won't regret it 😊”
