Voices for the Future - “Voices rising together to shape tomorrow.”
Voices for the Future is a self-published collaborative book project created by author and poet Stephanie Rowe — a call for voices, action, and truth.
This book invites people from all walks of life — artists, academics, activists, thinkers, and everyday people — to share their reflections on the world we live in today and the one we hope to create tomorrow. Each contribution is a personal letter to the future, a moment of truth captured in time.
As our world faces immense social, political, and environmental challenges, Voices for the Future asks vital questions: What would you say to someone fifty years from now about this era?
What have you learned, endured, or dreamed of changing? And if you could imagine a utopia — a world beyond our current systems — what would it look like?
This project is more than a collection of perspectives; it’s a beacon for future generations — a record of our collective humanity, resilience, and imagination.
It is about turning pain into purpose, truth into transformation, and words into power. Every voice in this book stands as a reminder that education, representation, and honest dialogue are essential to building a better world. Together, these stories will act as both witness and guide — a reflection of our time, and a vision of what’s possible when we come together with compassion, unity, and hope.

Introducing contributors to Voices for the Future
A bold, insightful writer inspired by Žižek’s Defense The Courage of Hopelessness. His piece challenges the “easy answers” dominating politics today, urging us to imagine a future beyond the state and towards a more organic society.
Andy’s vision confronts cycles of disillusionment, environmental collapse, and entrenched ideologies, yet dares to dream of a radical utopia — touching on comedy, offering a new kind of hope amidst uncertainty.

Delving into the capitalist machinery and entrenched superstructures that perpetuate a hierarchy of disenfranchisement—
Africa as a harrowing case study—we confront the urgency of independent learning and critical thought in resisting hate and corruption.
Can we dare to imagine, let alone build, a future beyond these chains? And if so, what will it take to make the impossible possible?

MumRed, Samala Thakialee Cronin
Founded in October 2023 by Samala Thakialee Cronin, MumRed is a First Nations luxury fashion label born from cultural sovereignty, self-determination, and unapologetic expression.
As a proud Butchulla and Woppaburra woman raised on Lardil Country in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Samala weaves her heritage through every design — blending ancestral knowledge with contemporary couture to tell stories of resilience, beauty, and power. In just over a year, MumRed has grown from a bold idea into a celebrated national brand.
With features in Vogue Australia, four National Indigenous Fashion Award nominations, and the honour of opening 2024 Melbourne Fashion Week, MumRed is redefining what First Nations fashion looks and feels like.
Dressing icons on red carpets and preparing to take its designs to Milan, Paris, and New York Fashion Weeks in 2025 — MumRed is not just a label. It’s a movement. A reclamation of culture, colour, and country. A story stitched in sovereignty.

Big ideas, real impact.
Stephanie Rowe is a poet, author, and storyteller driven by a deep belief in the power of words to heal, connect, and transform. After navigating her own personal challenges, Stephanie turned pain into purpose — using her writing to foster dialogue, empathy, and hope.
Voices for the Future was born from that passion: a desire to create a collective space where truth and imagination meet, where voices from every background can be heard, and where stories become tools for change.
For Stephanie, this project is more than a book — it’s a mission to document our shared humanity and offer future generations a record of courage, honesty, and unity in a time of great uncertainty.

Overview/introduction of what you will be discussing
What would you like to write about? If someone picked up this book in 40-50 years what message would you like to send them?
Reflect on the present: What are we seeing in the world — politically, socially, environmentally?
Think critically about the future: Where do you feel we’re headed, and what forces are shaping that path?
And importantly, to imagine: If you were to envision a utopia — a world no longer bound by current systems — what would that look like?
A letter to the future.
10k as a buffer. If it is a lot less that is fine with me. If it is more that is also fine.
